National Symposium “Bratianus in Romanian history”, XVIII edition

On November 24, 2016 starting at 10:00, in the Reception Room of the Bratianus Mansion from Ştefăneşti, occured the XVIII edition of the National Symposium “Bratianus in Romanian history”.

The event organized by the Arges County Council and the Cultural Centre “Brătianu” was held under the auspices moments anniversary this year and under the stimulus feelings of patriotism, dignity, courage in the face beatings history that characterizes so well the members of the Brătianu family, their role in building and completing the modern Romanian state.

Political visionary of Ion Brătianu (1821-1891), steadfastness of Ionel Brătianu (1864-1927), economic protectionism of Vintilă I.C. Brătianu (1867-1930) or martyrdom in the communist prisons of George I. Brătianu (1898-1953) and Dinu I.C. Brătianu (1866-1950) testify over time about the presence of this family in history.

This scientific event was attended by historians, archivists, students from Argeş educational institutions, during which were discussed interesting topics, but also current. During the symposium it was launched several publications referring to the event which will commemorate 100 years since Romania entered the First World War.
